WE ARE GOING BANANAS!!

Today, we had our Read-A-Thon kickoff assembly with the theme: "Bananas About Reading". Students brought envelopes home to keep track of their reading on one side and their pledges on the other. Read over it tonight and make sure you initial their nightly minutes. They are to bring it back each day to be eligible for prizes. Also, they will get $50 each day they bring it back with minutes read and initials. If you go over this packet with your child tonight, write bananas in the planner for free money. Speaking of money, we spent our fake money today and are starting over with new money tomorrow. Kids loved it and got some fun stuff. In reading today, we read chapter 1 in the theme reader and it is about the Midwest which we already covered in Social Studies, but they love it and they are learning even more information about this area. I hope my reading kids are continuing to read their biographies and start working on your posters soon. Have a great night.
