Fun-Busy Day!

We had another great day in Room 6. It started off with Rusty's show talking about school safety and reiterating what I always say about safety. He talked about how teachers are trained for emergency situations and will do what we need to do to keep our kids calm & safe and that we are in a leadership role. He also talked about the importance of them listening to & following instructions during a situation if one should arise. It was so nice to have him reassure the kids that they are the priority and we will do what we need to. Then we moved on to our Midwest tour. We visited 3 locations and I think St.Louis was their favorite. Ask them what rises 630 feet above the Mississippi River and write it in the planner. In Reading today with the students in here we created the 8 phases of the moon with Oreo Cookies. What a fun hands-on way to learn about the moon phases. Of course we had fun eating the extras too. Hopefully, your child has shown you theirs by the time you read this. They also have a comprehension packet to finish for Chapter 1 of Space. Chapter 17 Spelling words went home today. In Math, we learned long division and all about the Royal Family. Have them tell you about it and then do the problem 38 divided by 8 for you in the planner. Tomorrow in Science, we will make our Snowology People that are going to go with a book we are going to read and then write our own stories. Remember PE tomorrow so bring those tennis shoes. Have a great night.
