Happy Tuesday

Today was filled with more learning about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his non-violent ways. We listened to a short book on YouTube called "Martin's Words" and then read a biography about him and his life. Then students had to create a timeline with what they learned. Tomorrow they are going to complete an activity sheet of questions using their timeline. Ask them what non-violent ways Dr. King used to help people and ask them one significant event in his life. If they can tell you, write MLK in the planner. My reading kids picked their biography books today. What they are to do now is start reading it and writing down important facts they find about their person on sticky notes or paper that they will use in their project. The packet for the project will be sent home on Friday. Tomorrow we are watching our space movie called "Fly to the Moon" for our celebration. Kids can bring a treat and a beverage (no larger than 20 oz.). Also, we are going to work on our snow globes the rest of this week and students now need to bring a small figure/figurine of whatever they choose to to put into their jar. They know that it doesn't have to be seasonal, but make sure it is something they don't want back as it will be epoxy glued onto the lid of the jar. Also, make sure it is not too big or it will not work. Remember library books tomorrow. Have a great night.
