SHHHH- It's a Secret!!

Yes, tomorrow is Mr. English's 50th birthday and we are all wearing black. As a school, we are making him a book. Each grade level has a different theme and our theme is: To have fun at age 50 you can…. Each student wrote & illustrated how to have fun at age 50. They were quite humorous. Ask your child what they wrote/illustrated and put 50 in the planner. HOMEWORK TONIGHT: We played a survival game in Social Studies today to go with our tour of the SE and what it was like to live in the Jamestown Colony in the early 1600's. They are to use the letter form that went home with them to write a letter to their brother, John telling him that he should come to America or stay in England. They need to give at least 3 reasons why he should stay or come and these are to be from the game. If your child does this tonight, write survival in the planner. You will see by their letter and your discussion with them that life back then was quite difficult. Tomorrow is the start of our MAP testing. We will be taking the Reading portion tomorrow. Students are encouraged to get a good night's rest, healthy breakfast, and bring a healthy snack. They may also bring gum to chew. Also, please send them off with a happy message of encouragement to work hard and do their "best" on the test. Have a great night.
