Celebration Day Tomorrow Afternoon

Yes, tomorrow is our celebration in the afternoon after Math. Students can wear PJ's, bring a pillow, blanket, stuffed animal and a drink (with a lid) for the movie and I am providing the popcorn. Today in Math we did "comparing fractions" and we ran out of time to do the assignment here at school so they all have it for HOMEWORK!!!!! They also did very well on their measurement conversion assessment yesterday. Good Job. Today in Montana History, we started our Read-A-Loud to go with the expedition and had to "catch up" to where we are actually in our journals so we did some speed reading about Sacajawea getting captured. Ask your child which tribe she was captured by and taken to where and what happened to her there that will be a huge part of the expedition. If they can tell you, write Sacajawea in the planner. We also learned today in our Helen Keller biography about how she tries to communicate with others. Have a discussion and talk about how difficult it must be for the Keller family. Lead 21 kids chose their biographies today. They will be able to use those books, along with others, and the internet to gather their information for their projects. Each small group read a biography about a famous person who studied space. They are going to work in groups tomorrow to make a project that will then be a model for them to follow when doing their independent projects. Requirements for the independent projects will be sent home early next week. Their job for right now is to start reading their books and gathering facts. Tomorrow is Library so get those books here. Friday is the Science Night sponsored by PTA from 6-8:00 p.m. Free money to whoever goes!!!! Have a great night.
