Great Time at the NILE

Way to go Team Hankins!!!  You all demonstrated positive behavior at the NILE and lots of learning took place.  Ask your  child about 3 new things they learned and if they can tell you, write NILE in the planner for free money.  See all the pictures below of the stations we went to during our rotations.
Recorders for Music Class-Mrs. McKinsey sent these home on Tuesday.  Get them in by Tuesday, October 27th.
Red Ribbon Week is quickly approaching.  Here at Bitterroot School, we have a lot going on that week.  We will have theme & dress up days for the week.  So you know ahead of time, here they are:

Monday: "Be ready to say NO to drugs" -wear red.
Tuesday:  "Put a cap on drugs" -wear a cap/hat
Wednesday: "Drugs Stink" wear pink
Thursday: "No drugs in this hood" -wear a hoodie & sweats
Friday:  "These PAWS don't touch drugs" -wear Bobcat colors & paws.
Also, we will be having a door decorating contest so the students will come up with an idea and we will decorate our door following the Friday theme of "these PAWS don't touch drugs".  So if you have any wonderful ideas, share them with your child and then they can share with us.
I will also be bringing in guest speakers for 3/5 days that week as a supplement to our Character Counts meetings where we will spend a good time about Making positive choices-just say NO and being drug free.  We will also learn about Kiki Camarena, the person whom Red Ribbon Week got its' start.
Also, Friday, October 23rd, we will have Rocky Mountain College foreign exchange students coming in and sharing about their heritage.
WEDNESDAY IS HERITAGE DAY HERE IN OUR CLASSROOM FOR STUDENTS IN LEAD 21 READING.  I hope you have been talking about this enough and have at least one thing to share.  Remember you have to have it written or typed out as well.  Looking forward to this.  Also, remember if you send in a food sample, have a taste for 13 students.  Thank you.  Any last minute questions about this, email me.
Students had a great guest teacher behavior yesterday.  I am so proud of them!!!  Happy teacher here!!!
