Happy TGIF!

What a busy, great week we had with lots of good learning going on.  We are on the mark to have another good week ahead.
The happenings for the upcoming week are:
Math-we will work on making change in different money amounts along with continuing our problem solving skill of patterning, and addition, subtraction, and multiplication computation.
Language-we are going to be moving into writing personal narratives
Spelling-Unit 5 word list on homophones
Science-continuing with our unit on matter
Social Studies-we are going to start our tour of the US with the Northeast Region.  I will be sending home 2 maps next week for students to use to practice learning the states in the region along with their capitals.  They will need to know these.
Buddy stuff-on Friday, October 10th we are going to make leaf animals with our buddies so please encourage your child to collect different sizes, shapes, and colors of leaves.  They are to keep them in a plastic zip lock bag so as to not dry them out and to press them flat.
Also, on Friday, October 10th, we have Bill Merical, the author of Journey of Fallen Rock" coming along with Heritage Day.
Speaking of heritage day-it looks like we are going to have lots of different foods from different countries which is great.  But please not only send the food, but a little bit of background on your family's heritage & culture for them to share with the class so we know how the food you share came to be, when your family celebrates with it, etc.  If any questions, please ask.
PTA Movie Night tonight-Earn $200 of free money.  Put PTA movie in your child's planner if they attend.
Have a great weekend.
