As you can see, the students did an awesome job with their leprechaun traps. Now they have to wait and see what heppened this weekend as they set the traps in the room to see if they could catch one of those little rascals. HMMMMM-I wonder if Lucky got so lucky. They are also going to see what happened to the pennies we used in our little experiment on Friday.
Now that we have fun with St. Patricks Day, we are on to Volcanoes. Remember these are due on Tuesday, March 19th and we will be erupting them at 2:15 so feel free to come and watch if you would like. We will be doing it on the edge of the playground. Let's hope for decent weather.
In Reading, we are starting Unit 6 in Lead 21 which is a science unit on ecosystems. We are very lucky that Mrs. Anderson, our wonderful librarian, will be extending this unit in her library studies.
Unit 26 spelling words this week.
In Math, we are finishing up our fractions unit with a test on Thursday and then moving into measurement.
Jazzy was our student of the week last week. We sure got to see lots of pictures of her in dance and all her wonderful 4-H ribbons. One of the interesting things we learned about Jazzy was that she wants to own her own tire shop when she gets older. Would have never guessed that one.
Have a great rest of your weekend.
I am currently in my 29th year of teaching and still loving it!! My philosophy on teaching is that I believe school needs to be a safe, fun place for your child to come to each day. I feel that if these things are in place, the learning will happen. Not only will they learn a lot educationally, but about building good character also. During my free time I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
