Last Post

Just one last quick post for the year. Once again-thank you all for an amazing year. I hope you feel as good about it as I do. Your children are a real gift and I so enjoyed each and everyone of them. They grew so much socially, emotionally, academically, and behaviorally. I look forward to watching them progress in 5th grade right down the hall. Have an awesome summer. Make lots of fun memories. Be safe in all your endeavors & travels. Love, Mrs. Hankins

Busy-Fun-Fast Day

As you can see, I got so wrapped up in watching the fun plays that I didn't get the greatest of pics and didn't even get all of you in them. I so apologize for that. But just know you did GREAT and Mrs. Culp and her 2nd graders loved watching them. Soul Surfer & Sundaes-yes we enjoyed the movie and had fun spending our money and building our sundaes. Your job tonight is to have a conversation about the movie and how it relates to our daily morning character meetings, goal setting talks, etc. I hope this movie made Character meetings come alive. We are going to discuss it in the morning for our last morning meeting. Tomorrow is going to be field with just "hanging out" playing games, a little wiffle ball, and just enjoying our last 1/2 day before summer break. (12:00 dismissal) Please bring your backpacks tomorrow even though we have everything cleaned out, but you get your report cards tomorrow. I did forget to send one thing home with all of you-can anyone figure out what it may be before tomorrow? I just got done watching the 6th grade graduation. I can't believe these great kids are off to Castle Rock. Have a great night and cya tomorrow.

Congratulations!!!

Yes, congratulations to all our award recipients today. BUG Club (Bring up grades) awards were presented to: Grace, Hanna, Devin, Kylee, and Tristan. Terrific Kids(straight A's) awards were given to: Grace, Harley, Phil, Piper, Kira, Jacoby, Dylan, Hanna, Ava, Kylee, Sydnie, Kaelynn, Tristan, and Tylie. The Bobcat Award was given to Grace. Congratulations to all of you. You should be proud. Tomorrow is Soul Surfer movie day. Bring a drink if you wish. Also, we are going to do our plays sometime in the morning. I will take pics and Smilebox them for you to see. Sorry about no parent invites, but we are just going to do them when they fit and don't want to be tied to a schedule. Build a Sundae-yes tomorrow is "build a sundae" day. It is their chance to spend their extra fake money. Once again thank you for an awesome year. I just love these kids and I am so proud of them. You parents have taught them great morals, respect, responsibility, along with believing in themselves. Thank you. Have a great night.

Bring Props Tomorrow

Yes, students who volunteered to bring in props tomorrow for their short little reader's theater plays need to have them here tomorrow or else we won't be able to perform them. Also, remember Awards Day tomorrow at 9:30 if your child received a little note yesterday as an invite for you to join us. Hope to see you there. As you can tell from their backpacks today, we are starting to take some of our desk stuff home so that we don't have it all at once. Our goal is to clean up the room on Thursday and then to have Friday morning to enjoy spending time together without having to stress out about cleaning up, etc. Have a great night.

Happy Monday

Today was a great day. We started off with wiffle ball at 9:00 and had a great time cheering each other on. Then we came in and worked on our reader's theater plays, props, and backgrounds. These are turning out to be a great end of the year activity after all our hard work all year. There was some question of whether parents could come for these. Well, the answer is no just because we are not sure when we are going to fit them in so don't want to be held to an exact time frame. I will video and/or takes lots of pictures and put them into a smile box. Notes went home today with your child if they are going to be receiving an award on Wednesday at the award assembly at 9:30. Please plan to come if you can to share in their amazing accomplishments. Treats went home today with those students who worked in the lunch room this last quarter. No pizza party due to field trips and not all classes being here on the same day. Remember to get your permission slip in for the Soul Surfer movie if you haven't already done so. Remember students are to bring a drink of their choice and I will provide a treat that they can purchase with their fake money. Reminder: Friday, the last day of school, is a 12:00 dismissal.
